Empowering Generations Through Free Education: A Journey of Hope and Transformation Since 2016. It gives me immense pride and a deep sense of purpose to write this note as the Principal of Krishna Vikash Institute for Social Welfare School, an institution that was born out of compassion, equity, and the vision to empower the underprivileged segments of our society.
Established in the year 2016 under the benevolent guidance and immutable support of the Dasari Murali Krishna Foundation, this school has been dedicated to offering completely free education to Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) students from Class I to Class X.The inception of this institution was not just the start of another school—it was the beginning of a silent revolution aimed at dismantling generational barriers of inequality and deprivation. When the first bell rang in the modest classrooms of our school in 2016, it echoed far beyond the boundaries of our campus. It carried with it a message of hope, dignity, and the right to education for all—regardless of caste, background, or economic status.
Vision
The vision of Krishna Vikash for Social Welfare School has always been clear: to create a nurturing educational environment where children from marginalized communities can dream, learn, and achieve without the burden of financial hardship or social stigma.
Mission
The mission is deeply rooted in the values of social justice, inclusive development, and the constitutional promise of equality. Through the continued efforts of the Dasari Murali Krishna Foundation, the school has remained committed to providing free tuition, free books, uniforms, free meals, and access to co-curricular and skill-based learning—all completely at no cost to the students or their families.
A Ray of Hope for SC/ST Communities
It is a well-documented reality that children belonging to SC and ST communities in India have historically faced systemic barriers to accessing quality education. These obstacles range from financial hardship and geographic isolation to deep-rooted social discrimination and neglect. The Krishna Vikash School stands as a counterforce to this exclusion, ensuring that children from these communities receive the same opportunities as their more privileged counterparts. From the very beginning, the Foundation has ensured that the school is equipped not only with the basic academic infrastructure but also with empathetic educators, supportive staff, and a community-focused curriculum that values the lived experiences and cultural identities of its students. This holistic approach has enabled us to retain students, reduce dropout rates, and encourage girls' education, especially among tribal and lower-caste populations.
Impact and Transformation
The real impact of this school is best measured in the lives it has touched. Parents, many of whom never received formal education, now dream of a better life for their children. Villages around the school have begun to see education as a tool of transformation rather than a luxury. There is perhaps no greater testimony to the school's success than the pride in the eyes of a student who now reads fluently, speaks with confidence, and dreams without fear.
Looking Ahead
As we complete nearly a decade of service, our mission continues with even more vigor. We aim to expand the school to include higher secondary education, build science laboratories, and set up a career guidance and scholarship cell for students aiming to enter higher education. We are also working towards initiating community outreach programs, encouraging parents to take an active role in their children's education, and building a mentorship network involving alumni and volunteers.
